She Had A 2-inch Gap Between Her Abs That Prevented Her From Walking Or Standing For Long Periods.
What issues were you dealing with and how long were you dealing with them before you found Cornerstone Health?
My name is Tiffany Chan, I was pregnant with twins a couple years ago, and it was about 10 months after they were born where I was just standing, trying to give them a bath and five, 10 minutes in I realized that I couldn’t stand anymore and I had to sit down or lay down, and that was a common theme. So anytime I was standing or walking within five to 10 minutes at a time, I realized that I couldn’t do more than that. So my good friend who’s also my neighbor, used to come to Cornerstone for any pain that she was experiencing, so she suggested that I come to Cornerstone and check it out.
A lot of people think there isn’t a solution to their pain. Did you feel this way before coming to Cornerstone Health?
Cornerstone Health was the first clinic that I went to. I didn’t seek out any other clinics, so I didn’t really have any particular concerns. I think I just went in thinking let’s just see what they can do or what they can inform me of.
How long have you been coming to Cornerstone Health and what improvements have you seen?
I started coming to Cornerstone February of 2018, yeah. And since then, it was about nine months into all the rehab, the physical therapy, where I was finally cleared to do some strength training. So I had a two-inch gap, so diastasis recti in between my abdominal muscles, so that was preventing me from being able to walk or stand for long periods of time. So nine months after coming here regularly, two to three times a week, I was finally able to you know, walk and stand for longer periods of time and starting in November of last year was when I began my strength training classes and so since then, I’ve begun to be able to lift weights and therefore carry both of my children, go to parks with them, run with them, do everything with them essentially and not be limited in any way.
How is Cornerstone Health different from the other clinics you've experienced?
One of my favorite things about coming here is that everyone basically treats you like family. They’re very attentive to your needs and to your concerns. They’re very good at educating you as well on what is going on with your body, why it’s happening, what you can do to correct it, and essentially they just care about you as a person, so it’s really comfortable coming in, you say hi to everybody and it really just feels like a family here.
What would you say to someone that may be hesitant about coming to Cornerstone Health for treatment?
If someone is hesitant about it, I would just tell them my experience and my story as well as a couple of other friends of mine who have come here and just to tell them to check it out and see what they can do for you.
