How Dr. Barbie Allegretti Helps Her Patients Make Changes That Last A Lifetime!
Dr. Barbie. How do you ease someone into this change in lifestyle?
– All right, so it is hard to change, and that is probably one of the biggest roadblocks that people face when implementing a new habit or starting a new activity, or wanting to change their life or their health. It is hard to change. Also, people know that you’re not gonna get any better if you keep doing the same things that you’re doing. Say you’re drinking 12 cups of coffee a day, you sleep one hour a night, you’ve never exercised in your life, and all you eat are foods that are packaged and convenience foods. Okay, I’m not gonna have you overnight just wipe all of that out and start on this new plan that’s completely new to you in all ways. So, we’d start little by little and prioritize and that’s also why testing is important because it helps us to be able to prioritize where to start. What’s showing within your blood work or within your other specialty test that is most prevalent and let’s start with that. There might be a lot of other things going on, too, but we don’t have to tackle it all at once, and oftentimes it’s best not to. It’s best to start, you know, with a kinda little bit at a time, because we do want to foster lifelong change and improvement. We don’t want it just to be a, okay you want to improve for the new year. All right, well, that might last three weeks, so we don’t want it just to be a three-week trend, we want it to be able to be implemented throughout your life. That’s why it’s important to find something that is suited for you that you relate to when it comes to all these other areas, rather than just doing something that you think you should do. We take the time and consideration to think about those things for each individual, and then match them with our expertise and recommendations on how to get to where you want.
How can I get an appointment with you?
So, I’m very excited to be able to partner with Dr. Ben and Cornerstone Clinics in incorporating functional medicine and holistic medicine, and we are offering 15-minute complimentary consultations, so you can schedule at the front desk. You can call in and we’ll be able to set that up. We’ll meet in person either at the office, or we’ll meet via video conference as well, and during that time I’ll answer any questions that you have. If you need to learn a little bit more about functional medicine and see if it’s for you, and also just to get to know each other a little bit and see if we’re a good fit for each other moving forward.
