Having A Baby?! Functional Medicine Can Help!
Dr. Barbie. How can functional medicine help with conception & overall infant health?
– So a lot of people are struggling with conception and it used to be a normal practice among societies and different groups to prepare before even conceiving. And that’s not something that is a normal practice today. So I support people with that, start with and I did that for myself, for my husband, do that for patients and it’s not just important for the increasing the likelihood or chance of conception, but it’s important for maternal health, mental health for the mother for fetal health and development, and for the health of growing child, once they’re born. All of those things are and it goes even more far-reaching than not and improves the course of labour and delivery if we can just enhance and improve the health of the mother and father in advance. And sometimes that’s as simple as doing blood work, really optimizing nourishing foods, and, you know, ensuring that they’re getting good rest and quality movement, too. So that is preconception and conception. I work hand in hand with fertility specialists as well if other interventions are needed. And we just support the aspect that might not be supported when it comes to things like IUI or IVF. So I work hand in hand with individuals when they’re going through that to ensure that nutrients are on track and that we can support their health once they come out of that cycle. So, I also support women in pregnancy as well. So it’s there’s research that’s shown that the health of the mother impacts the health of the child and their likelihood of chronic disease, particularly diabetes. So that is a disease and diagnosis that’s becoming more and more common, and it’s also happening sooner and for children, children, and young children are being diagnosed with diabetes.
How can I get an appointment with you?
So I’m very excited to be able to partner with Dr. Ben and Cornerstone clinics in incorporating functional medicine and holistic medicine. And we are offering 15-minute complimentary consultations. So you can schedule at the front desk you can call in, and we’ll be able to set that up we’ll meet in person either at the office or we’ll meet via video conference as well. And during that time, I’ll answer any questions that you have if you need to learn a little bit more about functional medicine and see if it’s for you. And also just to get to know each other a little bit and see if we’re a good fit for each other moving forward.
