Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most-studied healing arts. Traditional acupuncture uses a series of connected points throughout the body to treat a wide array of ailments from pre-menstrual pain, to depression, TMJ dysfunction, and even infertility. This works by normalizing and equalizing aspects of your health that are determined to be out of balance and causing disturbances. Traditional acupuncture treatments are not specific to a single ailment, but rather a strong and effective way to solve imbalances that create multiple aliments. At Cornerstone Health, we also treat patients with western or biomedical acupuncture. This is where East meets West and allows us to provide more specific and condition-based acupuncture treatments. We may utilize biomedical acupuncture for arthritis or athletic injuries, whereas we may utilize traditional acupuncture for post-chemotherapy sickness or anxiety. Both approaches to acupuncture use a small sterile needle that is often painlessly inserted into the points being treated. Many patients are surprised at how comfortable acupuncture can be! If you have an aversion to needles, we can also treat these points with micro-current stimulation over the skin with comparable results for many conditions.
